The California Latino Scholarship Directory is a search engine for scholarships for California's Latino students.


The Sallie Mae Scholarship search provides access to an award database containing more than 3 million scholarships worth over 16 billion dollars. The database is expanded and updated daily.


The United Negro College Fund site allows you to search through thousands of different scholarships and grants.

Getty Scholar Grants (Getty Foundation)


Getty Scholar grants are for established scholars, or writers who have attained distinction in their fields. Recipients are in residence at the Getty Research Institute, where they pursue their own projects free from academic obligations, make use of Getty collections, join their colleagues in a weekly meeting devoted to an annual theme, and participate in the intellectual life of the Getty.


Eligibility
Applications are welcome from researchers of all nationalities who are working in the arts, humanities, or social sciences.


Current Getty staff and members of their immediate family are not eligible for Scholar Grants. Recent recipients, those who have received a Getty Scholar award within the past 3 years, may be removed from consideration.


Terms
Getty Scholars may be in residence for one of three periods ranging from three to nine months: September to December 2014; January to June 2015; or September 2014 to June 2015. A stipend of up to $65,000 per year will be awarded based on length of stay, need, and salary. The grant also includes an office at the Getty Research Institute or the Getty Villa, research assistance, an apartment in the Getty scholar housing complex, and airfare to and from Los Angeles. These terms apply as of August 2013 and are subject to future changes.


Application Availability and Deadline
Complete application materials are now accepted online only. The next deadline for this grant is 6:00 p.m. (PDT) on November 1, 2013.


Notification
Applicants are notified of the Getty Research Institute's decision approximately six months following the deadline.


Review Process
Getty Scholar grants are awarded on a competitive basis. Applications will be evaluated on the basis of: (1) the overall quality of the application; (2) how the proposed project bears upon the 2014-2015 annual research theme, Object - Value - Canon; (3) the applicant's past achievements; and (4) how the project would benefit from the resources at the Getty, including its library and collections.

Applicants are required to complete and submit the online Getty Residential Scholar application form, which includes completing an online information sheet, and uploading a Project Proposal, Curriculum Vitae, and optional Writing Sample by 6:00 p.m. (PDT) November 1, 2013.


Letters of recommendation are not required for this application.
