Baylor is committed to bringing the best and brightest to Baylor University. As a part of this commitment, Baylor offers significant scholarships for excellent students. If you are considering attending Baylor in the 2013-2014 academic year, please complete the information below to estimate your scholarship eligibility.

For 2013-2014, I will be a: Freshman Transfer Student

and will have either:

• never attended college or


• attended college prior to high school graduation (earning dual credit or advanced credit) or


• attended college only in the summer following high school graduation

At the time of admission, new freshmen are considered for one of Baylor's academic scholarships. If the application for admission is received after February 1, 2013, scholarship consideration may be based on available funding.

• Academic scholarship recipients must meet all university requirements for regular admission.


• Students may take the SAT or ACT more than once for consideration as long as the test is completed prior to the first day of class at Baylor University.


• Regents' Gold Scholarship recipients are not eligible for President's, Provost's, and Deans' Gold Scholarships. Recipients of the Regents' Gold Scholarship are expected to maintain a 3.5 cumulative Baylor grade point average for renewal in subsequent years.


• President's Gold Scholarship, Provost's Gold Scholarship, and Deans' Gold Scholarship recipients will receive only the highest level of scholarship for which they qualify. Recipients of these academic scholarships are expected to maintain a 3.0 cumulative Baylor grade point average for renewal in subsequent years.


• These academic scholarships require full-time undergraduate enrollment each academic year.


• Need-based scholarship consideration is based on documented need as determined through the information provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and availability of funding.

One of the benefits of university professors being involved in cutting edge research is the knowledge they then bring back to the classroom to share with students.

A year from now, Dr. Bryan Brooks will return to his upper-level environmental studies with a host of new things to share. Brooks, a professor of environmental science in Baylor's College of Arts and Sciences, will spend the 2013-14 academic year conducting research on water quality stressors in Alberta, Canada, thanks to the Fulbright Scholar Award he received from the prestigious Fulbright Canada program.

A joint effort of the Canadian and U.S. governments as well as a diverse group of corporate sponsors and charitable trusts, the Fulbright Canada program provides for academic and cultural exchange with our neighbors to the north. In addition to his research, Brooks will be the Fulbright Canada Visiting Research Chair at the University of Lethbridge, representing Baylor for a stint on their faculty much as Cherry Award winners and other professors do on our campus.

An international expert on water quality issues in urban areas, Brooks has taught at Baylor since 2002 and has served as director of the university's environmental health science program since 2008. He is the author of more than 100 book chapters and journal articles and has been recognized by Baylor's chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, one of the nation's leading collegiate honor societies, for his exceptional student mentoring.
