Scholarships

Some students selected for the Joseph Baldwin Academy will be awarded partial scholarships ranging from $250 to $450. The number of scholarships is limited and will be awarded on the basis of financial need. Missouri applicants for financial aid will also be considered for one special $500 scholarship, The Joseph Baldwin Academy Opportunity Scholarship, made possible by a Missouri donor who each year seeks to help an extraordinary student with great potential for future growth and leadership attend the Academy.

Only students requesting financial aid should complete the request for financial aid section in the application. Students needing financial assistance are also encouraged to seek aid from service and business organizations in their local community such as Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, PTO/PTA, etc.

Scholarships are funded through the purchase of "Study Buddies", the Joseph Baldwin Academy DVD, memory book, group poster, t-shirts and hall store items sold at the residence hall during each session of the Academy.

COLUMBIA, Mo. ­- Recognizing the growing cost of higher education in the nation and to maintain and continue the highest quality for which the University of Missouri has become known, today Chancellor Brady Deaton announced that MU scholarships for high-ability students will be increased for students enrolling at Mizzou for the first time in Fall 2014.Specifically, the plan includes the following changes:

-Curators Award

• Awarded to students in the top 10 percent of their high school graduating classes


• Composite score of 31 or higher on ACT or combined critical reading and math SAT score of 1360 or higher


• Must graduate from an accredited high school


• Missouri resident


• Scholarship is worth $6,500

• Awarded to students in the top 5 percent of their high school graduating classes


• Composite score of 28 or higher on ACT or combined critical reading and math SAT score of 1250 or higher


• Missouri resident


• Must graduate from an accredited high school


• Scholarship is worth $4,500 (previous value was $3,500)

• Awarded to students in the top 50 percent of their high school graduating classes


• Composite score of 27 or higher on ACT or combined critical reading and math SAT score of 1220 or higher


• Out-of-state student


• Must graduate from an accredited high school


• Scholarship ranges from $5,000 to $10,000 (previous range was $2,000 to $5,500)
