Scholarships

The UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine has many scholarship opportunities, but most of these are not available for students with a wildlife/zoological/aquatic emphasis. As fees continue to increase due to the California-state budget crisis and with the already low projected salaries for the field of wildlife medicine, it is becoming increasingly difficult financially for students to pursue a career in this discipline. Thus, WAAM is excited to announce the establishment in 2010 of an endowed Wildlife and Aquatic Medicine Scholarship for one student of any class level at the UC Davis Veterinary School. The scholarship, currently valued at $327, is open to students from any track with a demonstrated interest in wildlife, zoological, and/or aquatic animal medicine.

To Apply:
Applicants must complete a supplemental essay question on the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine general scholarship application form regarding interest and/or involvemetn in wildlife, zoo, and/or aquatic medicine. Please see the current UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine scholarship packet for more details.

To Donate:
We need YOUR help! While we are very pleased to have raised sufficient club funds to establish this new endowment, additional funds are needed to increase the scholarship value to a more significant amount.
