Outside Scholarship Information


The Office of Financial Aid receives notification of various scholarships that are awarded by organizations other than the School of Law. These organizations have their own application and selection criteria for awarding private funds. Scholarships vary in amount and criteria and students are responsible for all application, renewal and disbursement paperwork.


CAPABA Educational Foundation (CEF) Scholarship
The Connecticut Asian Pacific American Bar Association (CAPABA) Educational Foundation Scholarship is to be awarded each academic year to an Asian Pacific American law student who demonstrates leadership potential, excellence in academia, a firm commitment and involvement with the Asian American community in Connecticut. Up to two $1,000 scholarships may be awarded at the CAPABA Annual Dinner on October 29, 2013, at the Omni Hotel in New Haven, Connecticut. Recipients are required to attend. Applications and additional information are available in the Law School Office of Financial Aid. The deadline for submission is October 15, 2013.


County Prosecutors Association of the State of New Jersey - Scholarships
The County Prosecutors Association of the State of New Jersey will award four $3,500 non-renewable scholarships (Harris Y. Cotton, Andrew K. Ruotolo, Jr., John H. Stamler, and Oscar W. Rittenhouse) to New Jersey residents enrolled in law school in fall 2013. Applicants can be either full or part-time students who have an interest in pursuing a career as a prosecutor. Additional scholarship specifics and applications are available at: http://www.cpanj.info/ . Completed applications must be postmarked by September 30, 2013.


Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association Scholarship
The Connecticut Hispanic Bar Association will award five $2,000 non-renewable scholarships to current law students, for the 2013-2014 academic year. Applicants do not need to be of Hispanic heritage, but must have a demonstrated commitment to the Latino community. Applications and additional scholarship information are available at www.ct-hba.org. All applications must be postmarked by September 30, 2013.
